How to Add a TwitThis Button to Blogger Posts

Here's a  great way to  add a button to every blogger post so  your visitors can easily  share your posts  on Twitter.  I can't wait to try it!  Click HERE for the Code

CranialSoup used the info  at TwitThis - tweaked  their bookmarklet code, & tossed in an image from another TwitThis code to create  one that works in Blogger. The button only shows on post pages and not the main page of your blog, so  the appropriate URL  shows on Twitter

Note: CranialSoup also added comments in the code for easily adding more buttons later, to  either all pages or just post pages.

How to Add the Code

  1. Go to Blogger Dashboard, click  "Layout "for the blog you want to add the button to.
  2. At  Layout , click " Edit HTML".

  3. Where it says "Backup/Restore Template", click "Download Full Template" & save the .xml file to your hard drive. (Then you can  restore your template, if  anything goes wrong.)

  4. Now on"Edit Template" , tick the"Expand Widget Templates" box.

  5. Use "CTRL  f" to find this line:
    <div class='post-footer'>

  6. Copy and paste the following code right after it: Click HERE for Code

  7. Click  "Save Template".
    If you get any red errors, Click "Remove all edits" & Contact CranialSoup for help (leave a comment stating the specific error message,) .  If you get a   "bX-"error, just try again tomorrow. Sometimes Blogger has its own  issues and they get resolved on their own if you wait.

  8. 8. Look at your blog. The button should appear on post pages only, and not the main page. Test the button- click on a post and share your post on Twitter.

Note:  If you want  to add other buttons to the footer of your posts, the comments in the code are a great help. Code inserted in  one section  will show on all pages, and the other will only show on post pages.

Credits: 100% goes to CranialSoup ( I just tweaked the explanation to shorten it.),  and although CranialSoup credits TwitThis 99% for the code, if it weren't for CranialSoup's tweaking, it wouldn't be available for use on Blogger!  Kudos to CranialSoup!

I really like CranialSoup's site. It's the first dark site I've been able to read, and it doesn't slow my browser down like some blogger tip sites.

I sent an email to CranialSoup to inform them of this post. I hope they will approve of my blog and the manner in which they are credited.
